AI Debates on One’s Publications (AIDOP)

I created AI Debates on One’s Publications (AIDOP) by using AI tools to conduct debates on my own published books; The Bachelors of Egypt, Enlightened Populism: Reflections on the News Cycle of a Pandemic, My Interview with ChatGPT and Global Justice and published the whole exchanges in a book titled Philosophical Debates with AI published in 27 January 2026

I used the same approach to conduct debates with AI tools on my previously published essays and published the whole exchanges under a category in my blog titled Philosophical Debates with AI, along with the book’s sample.

My debates with AI tools in the book tackled Enlightened Populism, Radical Globalism, Corporate Corruption, Global Justice, Moral Universality, Activism, the role of AI in future societies, the practicality of establishing a single world government with equal rights for all citizens and critiques of The Bachelors of Egypt novel’s philosophical premise and “My Interview with ChatGPT” book… the blog posts under the mentioned category naturally tackled more topics extensively.

My own use tackled my own areas of interest; Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, Psychology, Economics… yet the method can be adopted across several fields causing serious disruption to how content is published and how readers interact.

Purpose:

The goal of these debates isn’t to “win” or “lose”, the main objectives include stress-testing ideas through AI; effectively making them sharper by responding to criticism, refining one’s own thoughts, simply accepting criticism as valid or agreeing to disagree on certain points… inviting readers to explore the mechanisms of the thought process instead of simply asking them to accept conclusions, and documenting where AI tools stand at the time of publication. AIDOP effectively turns your work into living texts with open discussions instead of closed chapters.

The method encourages Enlightened Populism:

As highlighted in my essay Enlightened Populism Explained, Enlightened populism is presented as a healthy alternative to the two dominant behavioral patterns of communication in today’s world, “Blind Elitism” and “Ignorant Populism”; it may help provide the essential infrastructure for human beings to dismantle tribalism, cronyism, polarization, toxic competitiveness, oppression, systemic bigotry…

Blind Elitism involves blindly following a certain "expert" or an "elite" without investigating the information, Ignorant Populism also involves the absence of investigation while relying on feelings or trends. Enlightened Populism involves listening to multiple experts, trying to understand how they reached certain conclusions and investigating the information to discern the truth.

By inviting readers to the thought process while presenting arguments and counter arguments, the content creator effectively encourages them to act as Enlightened Populists.

Radical Transparency: Instead of using AI for ghost writing which I consider as unethical as hiring a human ghost writer, or refining thoughts behind closed doors, you can invite readers to your own lab while demonstrating that your ideas can survive scrutiny.

Methodology:

1. You start by asking the AI tool to take a position opposing to yours, for example you can ask the tool to criticize your own published works or ask it if a certain disruptive idea of yours is applicable.

2. You engage in back-and-forth argumentation with the AI tool.

3. You copy-paste the whole conversation without editing anything (or narrate it fully for video/audio content).

4. For free publicly available content like blog articles and essays, you should copy-paste the whole content while asking the AI tool to take an opposing position. For content existing behind a paywall like books and academic papers, you can choose whether to provide the whole content to the AI tool or let it rely on publicly available data points to form its initial response.

5. Publish the content within 24 hours of the exchange, to effectively document where one or multiple AI tools stand at the time of publication.

Recommended AI tools:

Based on my own experience the best sparring partners today among the publicly available AI tools are ChatGPT and Gemini.

Adoption process:

To encourage the adoption of AIDOP, I will personally promote any content created using the described methodology through my blog and/or social media, as long as it mentions me and AIDOP while linking to this webpage.
